Easter treat WARNINGS part one! 🐰🚫🐶

🐾
Since I know, everyone is going to be making their Easter basket purchases this week, I wanted to take a moment to go over some ingredients you need to avoid at all cost! ☠️
🐾
The first ☠️: SPRINKLES! These are human grade sprinkles, which are filled with artificial coloring and sugars. Both of which are toxic to dogs (and humans, but you bipeds can do what you want 🤣)! Sugars feed cancer cells and artificial dyes have been banned in the EU and the UK for their toxic properties. ☠️ These are completely unacceptable ingredients in any treat! Also not even necessary bc dogs are color blind!!! 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🐶
🐾
While sprinkles may be easy to spot, sometimes artificial dyes can be hard to tell from natural ones. An easy tell, is when you have really dark (blues/blacks/reds especially!) or brightly colored: frostings, biscuits, and icing on cookies. You will ❌ never see a red food item that is made with a natural food coloring!
🐾
When a full biscuit is colored (ex. Milk-bones, kibble, etc.), that is going to come from an artificial food dye 👎 And while on the subject of milk-bones… Since I know they are commonly found in vets offices, and most “dog friendly” areas…🫣
🐾
Milk-bones are carb laden, containing mostly wheat flour, they also contain brewers yeast ⬇️ and a whole slew of artificial dies!  Not to mention BHA, which has been linked to causing cancer in multiple studies. 😓 I toss these in the 🚮
🐾
Brewer’s yeast is a by-product of the beer brewing process and can cause allergic reactions, itchy skin, infected ears and upset tummies! While it does contain some helpful B vitamins and minerals, it could be a sleeper cell ingredient that is aggravating your dog’s stomach, since it’s found in MANY supplement powders and foods. Always opt for Nutritional Yeast instead, it’s pricier but better! 💯
🐾
Stay vigilant when shopping and stay tuned for part two! 💕🐣💕
🐾
PS-if any of your treats were featured here, it is not personal! I took a snapshot of what was in my feed at the time for examples. I do hope you will consider using all natural, health-first ingredients and 86ing the sugar! 🫶
