Easter treat WARNINGS part two! 🐰🚫🐶

🐾
Since I know, everyone is going to be making their Easter basket purchases this week, I wanted to take a moment to go over some ingredients you need to avoid at all cost! ☠️
🐾
So when you see treats that are “yogurt covered” those are using yogurt chips. And just the way that white chocolate isn’t chocolate, yogurt chips AREN’T YOGURT! Yogurt chips are filled with milk solids, sugar abd hydrogenated oils. 🤦🏻‍♀️ The only reason yogurt (Greek/plain/nonfat) is recommended is for its probiotic content, which isn’t going to be in these overly sweet white chips. 😣 These are used in almost EVERY treat that looks dipped in a colored or white coating. So make sure to put those back on the shelf! ❌
🐾
Reminders that all white/wheat flour in and sugars are a NO for ingredients we want to see! (Toxic/feed cancer/gain weight/allergies) Not to mention artificial food colorings (which help to create those dark blues and red).
🐾
Hydrogenated oils are just as risky for dogs as they are for humans! 🫣 These can be found in any carob chips, “yogurt” coatings, and even some peanut butters! They can lead to obesity and heart disease, so always read your label!
🐾
Titanium Dioxide (okay for topical sunscreen use) is a food ingredient I actively avoid. In May 2021, the European Food Safety Authority stated that titanium dioxide can no longer be considered safe as a food additive. 🚫 Studies have concluded that nanoparticle-size titanium dioxide can accumulate in the body, break DNA strands and cause chromosomal damage. 😳 This can be found in a slew of treats and foods, so keep a look out! ☠️
🐾
Stay vigilant when shopping at your local Dog bakeries and pet stores this season and make sure to ALWAYS ASK FOR INGREDIENTS if they’re not listed! Of course I have too much to say 🤣 so stay tuned for part three! 💕🐣💕
🐾
PS-if any of your treats were featured here, it is not personal! I took a snapshot of what was in my feed at the time for examples. I do hope you will consider using all natural, health-first ingredients and 86ing the sugar! 🫶
